Our founder grew up in a North Carolina mill family, asked for a sewing machine at ten, and launched Ameliora after college. The name comes from meliorism: the belief that the world, and a workday, can be improved. We did not set out to make luxury clothing. We set out to make clothing that works as hard as you do.
